Sierra is the one with the tear under the eye, the white mask or even the large Indian cap (even three at the same time, as at the time of their concert in the Cabaret Sauvage (Paris) in May 2006!); she discovered singing with the gospel and the negro spiritual, then studied as singer of opera (in Rome, in New York then with the Academy of Paris). She also plays the harp, the piano, and the guitar.
Sierra officiates not only with the duet Cocorosie, but also with Matteah Baim, a painter whom she met at the end of the 90s and who one can hear on the album of Devendra Banhart, Cripple Crow (in the song Dragonflys). Together they formed the group Mettalic Falcons, and have under this name left an album “software metal” : Doughnuts serves.
She was born in Fort Lodge, Iowa ; as it is said, she spent much time studying Rumi, Halal Nashids and Eurythmy, and also exhibited an innate talent for trigonometry. Speculations abound. Members of her family attest to the fact that she learned how to harness lightening so as to charge her body with electricity. By her twenty-third birthday Ms. Rose had received many accolades in Paris as a refined Soprano with a promising career ahead in the opera.
